So dental implants are a great option because it is a fixed and permanent solution that can provide patients with the ability to chew and speak and function on a day-to-day basis without having to remove, you know, their teeth from their mouth. And it also helps in the long term with minimizing the shifting of adjacent teeth. And so it’s really a great long-term solution.
Of course, it is not a good alternative to having your own natural teeth, but it is an excellent option when you are missing teeth. You know, missing teeth really do have a comprehensive effect on a patient from aesthetics to function, which, you know, really do play into a person’s self-esteem because a lot of times the first thing you’re seeing is a patient’s smile. And so, you know, it really is a good option for helping a patient with their confidence and their ability to interact with others and not feel self-conscious about, you know, are things shifting? Is this going to come out if I sneeze? If I eat hard sticky foods, is that going to dislodge my dentures and make it so that I can’t function and speak and do, you know, and really it helps keep any interference from day-to-day functioning and really plays into patient confidence when they have, you know, stable, permanent teeth that they don’t have to remove and clean or take out to chew with.
And so I think it’s a great option for a lot of patients.
